We are excited to once again be partnering with our friend David Thomson of Thomson Communications on the marketing and branding of Tillie’s Farm, which was recently acquired by the City of Peabody and is managed by the Peabody Parks and Rec Department.
My favorite part of any project is getting to know the people, stories and history behind it all, and we had a great day at Tillie’s just before they closed for the season in December. I had never been there before (despite driving by it alot), and was excited to see they had such beautiful Christmas wreaths and lush trees at reasonable prices (next year! next year!). We also met Farmer Billy, who has been working at the farm since he was a kid, alongside his mother Shelagh. We were curious to learn more about the farm and it’s history, and WHO was Tillie? They graciously gave us a tour and explained every little nook and cranny. (By the way, Tillie was a World War II Vet who started the farm herself! <3)
We sat down and starting working on logo ideas with Jen Davis from the Peabody Park and Rec department. We narrowed down some ideas and posted them on social media to get the community’s opinion, which generated over 120 comments! We took them all in and actually combined them so that everybody wins and will be posting the final logo real soon. I love that the community was consulted about this wonderful community farm. And what a great way to build excitement for it’s reopening in April!
Now we are getting to work on signage and a new website – stay tuned! We have alot to do for an April 1st re-opening!
