Most of my photography clients don’t know it, but I actually have had an extensive career in IT that goes back even further than my photography days. (On the flip side, most of my IT colleagues have no idea that I am also a photographer.). It is exceedingly difficult for me to be just one or the other, as for me they literally make up everything that I am. Yet for the last year i have had to do just that. Thanks to Covid, and three kids in college simultaneously, I left the world of self-employment and headed into the city for a j-o-b in IT in healthcare. I have loved every minute of it, despite the crazy long hours. By long, I mean LONG. I worked over 100 hours one week. I think it’s actually illegal in Massachusetts for that to have even happened. Anyway…
Thanks to those hours, I didn’t have a second to check in on any of my social media accounts. I also didn’t realize my website was down, my photography hosting site was down, and my email account had expired. Awesome! I was so busy doing IT elsewhere I didn’t have a second to keep up with my own. :/
So, I’m trying to catch up on everything. It’s no small project, but we’ll get there. If you’ve been e-mailing me, I changed email provider, and if you aren’t familiar with the fun of email migration, let me tell you – I didn’t even bother doing it for my personal account. So anything historical is gone. Also, I am taking the time to move my photography hosting site away from zenfolio. We ALL hated it. You, ME – even the support people there would admit it wasn’t good! (SMH) But I had over 15k images on there so was invested. But now, I’m moving over to what appears to be a better, simpler, cleaner platform on ShootProof. I am literally in the process of doing it now and will post when it’s up and running. I welcome feedback on it as well, as it’s a fresh platform and if it doesn’t work for you I can more easily bail on it.
I will be continuing to work full time during the week, but the longer days of summer are soon upon us, which will give us some excellent golden hours for outdoor portraits for our seniors and corporate headshots. I will also be available on weekends again.
So, we’re back, and hopefully by the end of this month, we will be ‘really’ back, with all systems “go” again. Please leave me a message again, even if you have recently. Chances are it got lost in the shuffle of all these changes. We look forward to getting back on track serving you again real soon!
